Where can I find Little Giraffes?

Our address is available on our contact us page. All visitors must be planned in advance via email or our secure booking system. You will find an intercom system on arrival and our team will only allow entry to those they recognise. Please do not disguise your face and be patient whilst we check the intercom system for the safety and security of the children and staff.

How early do I need to put my name down for a place at Little Giraffes? 

Fill out an initial enquiry via the online form as soon as possible - Little Giraffes operates on a first come first served basis. 

 

How do I book a place? 

Little Giraffes pre school admissions overview steps are listed below: 

  • Step 2 – Pre school visit on an open day 

  • Step 3  - Complete full registration forms and pay deposit 

  • Step 4 – Booking confirmation provided 

 

My child has special educational needs and disability (SEND), can they still attend Little Giraffes?  

Of course! The SEND policy will provide you with more detailed information about how child’s individual needs can be met. 

 

What are the fees and how can I pay them? 

Little Giraffes is open about costs – take a look at detailed information on the Fees page. 

 

All booking queries can be made via the secure booking system.

Can my child come to pre school for one day a week? 

Unfortunately, we require children to attend pre school for a minimum of two days a week if booking outside of Government-funded places. For more detailed information, please view the admissions policy.

What should my child bring to pre school? 

  • A named bag, not too large. 

  • A labelled water bottle. 

  • A change of clothes, including underwear if potty training. Please include wellies, rain coats, sunscreen and hats (suitable for the season). Please label. 

  • EpiPen or any other type of long term medicine if your child has an allergy or medical condition which requires this. Medicine needs to be prescribed and labelled with name and instructions clearly using the online medication form. For more detailed information, please view the administering medication policy.

What are your opening times and when are you closed? 

Opening hours: 

  • Monday - 8:00 – 16:00 

  • Tuesday - 8:00 – 16:00 

  • Wednesday - 8:00 – 16:00 

  • Thursday - 8:00 – 16:00 

  • Friday – 8:00 – 16:00 

  • Saturday – Closed 

  • Sunday – Closed

What are your staff to child ratios? 

We follow the ratios, as outlined by the Early Years Foundation Stage.

 

Will I always see my child's key person? 

Little Giraffes aims to have consistency of staff. You will see your child’s key person most days however if your child’s key person is unavailable at pick up or drop off another member of our team of our highly engaging, friendly staff will always be fully briefed, and will have been completely committed to keeping your children safe and keeping you informed at daily handovers.

 

My child has a set routine – how will this work at pre school? 

Staff at Little Giraffes will work closely with you and your child to ensure the smoothest transition possible between home and pre school. 

 

What times are meal and snack times? 

​There are two snacks a day and a main meal towards the middle of the day.

What will my child eat at pre school? 

Little Giraffes provides a hot lunch for children attending pre school. Visit the food page to view a sample pre school menu. 

 

For wraparound and INSET services, children will be required to bring a packed lunch as no hot lunches are provided for these services. 

 

How often will my child go outside at pre school? 

Little Giraffes values outdoor learning time every day, in all-weathers! For this reason, you will need to provide your child with adequate outdoor clothing suitable for the season. 

 

How will I know what my child has been doing at pre school? 

The Famly app is used to record the activities your child does, the food your child eats and any extra care that is given to your child during the day. A daily handover with a member of staff will give you any crucial information that is pertinent to know.
