At Little Giraffes, lunch and snack times are valued and carefully planned for children to enjoy and benefit from every mealtime. Little Giraffes is registered with the Food Standards Agency as a food business and follows advice and guidance for Early Years Foundation Stage nutrition and caterers. All staff and directors at Little Giraffes have completed food hygiene and food allergen training.  

 

Little Giraffes is a nut free setting, an Allergy School and completed a self-assessment with the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation to embed a whole setting approach to food allergies.  

 

Little Giraffes provides a hot lunch for children attending the pre school. For wraparound and INSET services, children will be required to bring a packed lunch as no hot lunches are provided for these services. Little Giraffes provides snacks and fresh drinking water during all sessions at all services. 

   

Snacks and lunches are made at the kitchen in house and follow national nutritional guidance, catering for special dietary needs including food allergies, intolerances and cultural requirements listed on registration forms. Sample pre school menu will be available soon.   

 

Some of the team are living with food allergies and intolerances and understand how difficult and stressful it can be. Please do speak with anyone at Little Giraffes and discuss any concerns so your child can be supported.
