Little Giraffes are proud to have two experienced and dedicated Directors, each leading a different area of service. They are caring, approachable, and truly understand that you want the best for your child! All Directors are registered and have been assessed by Ofsted to ensure they are competent and suitable for their roles.
Director of Quality
Lance Lathino (he/him)
Lance is our Designated Safeguarding Lead within Little Giraffes. He is responsible for ensuring that Little Giraffes is delivering high-quality Ofsted registered childcare. Lance oversees quality, compliance, health and safety and development activities of Little Giraffes.
Lance will be that friendly Welsh voice who you can speak with about any concerns.

Favourite Food: Pizza
Hobbies and Interests: Cooking and kayaking
We give you fair warning, Lance loves the colour orange and we truly mean loves! There is always usually something orange on his body or within arm's reach. Feel free to test this when you meet him.
Director of Learning
James Jones (he/him)
James is responsible for ensuring that all children have a broad range of exceptional learning opportunities. He oversees all learning and curriculum planning and is one of the Deputy Safeguarding Officers at Little Giraffes.
James will be that friendly Southern voice who you can discuss transitions, settling in, learning and development with.

Favourite Food: Lasagne
Hobbies and Interests: Baking, cycling and reading books
James is happiest when buried in a book – whether that be a children’s picture book, sharing stories with children or curled up with a good novel! Keep an eye out for James’ recommended reads in the Little Giraffes library!
Staff have been recruited following strict safer recruitment practices in line with the Safer Recruitment Policy. All staff have a DBS (police check), suitable references, disqualification checks and undergo an in-depth induction and training period.
Little Giraffes provides all staff with protected development time for continuous professional development activities.

Our Placements
Little Giraffes provides placement opportunities for students and volunteers following safer recruitment checks. Children will be introduced to anyone on a placement and the welcome board in the foyer will provide information on anyone currently undertaking a placement with Little Giraffes.
